Loose Tea vs. Coffee: Getting Away From the Daily Grind

Julie Kreisler - Tuesday, March 09, 2010
Hello everyone,

Last week I had a great opportunity to talk with Naja Hayward, President of Naja Tea. You can see some of the first conversations posted between her and I in the previous blog post below. In this video, we talk about how preparing loose tea can really help slow you down in the rustle and bustle of life. Forget the stress, the deadlines, the lists and have a moment for yourself with a great cup of tea.

Organic Tea and the 3 Factors of Quality Loose Tea

Julie Kreisler - Wednesday, March 03, 2010
Hello everyone,

I had the pleasure of sitting down with the President of Naja Tea, Naja Hayward. We had over an hour to talk about everything related to tea, and I must say I enjoyed the company and conversation. I will be breaking down the best parts of our tea conversation over the next few weeks in a video series. I've started this week by adding two videos discussing some great tea topics.

The first video addresses the three factors that come into play when addressing the quality of loose tea. If tea isn't treated properly in any one of these stages, the quality and taste could be affected negatively. Here's video #1.

In this second video Naja and I discuss organic teas and a new role my Perfect Steeper can play unknown to many of our steeper users. Check out the video to discover how else you can use the Perfect Steeper (besides brewing the best loose tea on the go). Our Perfect Steeper is available for purchase here.

I still have many videos to come from my conversation with Naja, so stay tuned. We will also have some videos from requests of our blog and twitter followers. Don't forget to connect with us on facebook and twitter.

Hope you enjoy.

Weekend Promo: Free Phoenix Oolong Tea Sample with Perfect Steeper Purchase

Julie Kreisler - Friday, February 05, 2010

Hello All,

We're doing something new here at Eight Cranes. For the first 15 people who purchase a Perfect Steeper this weekend, I am going to give a free sample of my Phoenix Oolong - Orange Fragrance Blossom Loose Tea. It is a tea that is close to my heart, let me tell you why. Here is a brief history of the tea.

The name Orange Blossom Fragrance was given to the tea because of the hint of citrus oil in its aroma. The tea is raised nearly 1000 meters above sea level on Wudong Mountain in China. The tea is gathered from trees over a century old, and these same trees have lineage to a 600 year old Phoenix Shui Xian mother tree. The total production from this grove is only 25 kilograms a year.

The tea is finished at an oxidation rate of about 25% resulting in the hint of citrus, while yielding a rounder, honey-like quality. This tea has a smooth character and a more pronounced and persistent finish. If you can't tell already, it's one of my favorites.

I hope you enjoy your loose tea, especially when perfectly brewed with your new Perfect Steeper. To purchase a perfect steeper with this tea sample you can click here. If you haven't seen our perfect steeper, I have attached two photos below.

Enjoy,

Mei
